Maybe if you watch all the episodes at once you won't feel it. He was like a God, having no fear, no emotion etc. When I first started watching, it was about a man that knows everything just by a glance. Plus, I do not give two shits about Mary the Assassin and how that all played out - especially not at the cost of John Watson's characterization.and the baby thing was just kind of random and unnecessary? Unless the excuse is that the baby is the only reason John stayed with Mary, but they didn't actually go there. They also wasted canon plot points that could have been WAY more effectively used (Victor Trevor, Garridebs). the American CIA guy being thrown out the window in s2 Sherlock knowing about Thatcher in Hound and suddenly not knowing who she is in s4, etc). Mary getting shot in s4 Sherlock/John/Mycroft jumping out of the flat from the bomb vs. Season 4 gave us several bits that directly went against info they'd given us in earlier seasons (Sherlock saying he "knows exactly" what Moriarty was going to do next and then Moriarty actually being dead and having recorded shit for Eurus? Sherlock getting shot in s3 vs. The last bit is especially unforgivable in a show like Sherlock. My TL DR opinion is that s4 skipped over too much of the deductions, mysteries, and solid friendship between Holmes/Watson (you know, the core elements of Sherlock Holmes), and instead turned into this falsely intellectual action flick that had too many details that don't quite make sense.
